Comes to mind does this thought With a wonderful poem from a friend this morning. And this post is not to pick on the poem. But as much as in the 1st reading it was liked, and only one reading so far, It raises a long held concerned by James that Almost always approximating the joy of participating with creator, loving Creation, gets perverted into a personal amusement. I mean if loving creation is the force of life, being In contact with it is very positive, no? Yes. But tragically the human nervous system in this slaughterhouse culture these last 7000 years knows how to not continue to unity with that force but rather to use it as an amusement.
As yet another pleasure.
Yesterday someone stopped by the side of the road in their car and wanted to talk so James stopped. pleasant conversation. Both glad that we had it. Burning up his life traveling through all 48 States to Stir a soul instead of immediately burning it up in front of a American slaughterhouse for South American children. The individual was respectful. Yes, I'm a Christian the individual said but I think the buddhists were very correct and I choose to distance myself from the worst horrors of the world. Respectfully and compassionately James shared in return, I find life Exactly in turning toward the emergencies and metabolize in them enough to feed my work without extinguishing my flame. Life only happens in the face of emergency James has Experienced and believed almost all of his adulthood. A central paradox. If you would hold on to your life you will lose it
