nd. Not sure if my wish will come true of doing the vigil at the White House tomorrow to free Palestine. My body required a 16 hours of sleep today and I seem to have a mild stomach virus. We will see.

Nyt. There is a still-powerful political faction in America committed to the view that conquest pays, and that in general the way to be strong is to act tough and make other people afraid. One suspects, by the way, that this false notion of power was why the architects of war made torture routine — it wasn’t so much about results as about demonstrating a willingness to do whatever it takes.

article. detail. Israeli Defilement Forces (IDF) on Tuesday suppressed a peaceful march calling for "Christmas without occupation" in Bethlehem. Demonstrators marched to the Israeli military checkpoint in northern Bethlehem to celebrate Christmas and hand out gifts to children in the area. Marchers held up signs reading: "Jesus came with a message of: Peace, Freedom and Justice" and "We want Christmas without occupation." Israeli forces prevented demonstrators, some of whom were dressed as Father Christmas, from reaching the checkpoint and fired tear gas at the crowd.

For speaking these words, Diyaa was knocked to the floor of his family home, kicked, and beaten by Israeli soldiers who, two weeks earlier, had done the same to his two friends. It was 3 am, and Diyaa's parents could only watch as their 16-year-old son was dragged to an army jeep, blindfolded, and—like thousands of Palestinian children before him—forced into a military detention center in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. What happened next, according to affidavits given by Diyaa and his friends, fits a pattern of Israeli abuse designed to coerce confessions from Palestinian children. Among the most troubling of their experiences were prolonged periods of solitary confinement, a correctional tactic usually reserved for adult prisoners—and, even then, only after they are convicted.

Even 'politically correct' calls like the NY Mayor's to delay protests till after the funerals... HAS IT REVERSED - ON PURPOSE. If police don't honor the constitution and citizen rights BEFORE THEMSELVES... they should take off, or never put on the uniform.

nd. "Oh you poor dear!" Said my primary care doc A. C. She had just pealed back my bandages that only med techs had seen on prior visits. A graduate of Georgetown U she devotes her life to we poor, and a 'vacation' for her is going to Haiti to help the poor there. I went in to the clinic, AGAIN, this morning, because the blisters from my allergic reaction to adhesive tape... hurt like hell, and are not healing... just ooooooozing. I felt like a real baby. Her words were soooo comforting, and seemed, convincing. There is quite a bit of raw red meat showing. For the first time, I was kept awake quite a while last night with pain at the surgical site... that 36 block round trip hike to the WH Free Palestine vigil lugging all my stuff... may have hurt things, a bit. Doc C re-dressed my wounds and suggested I come back to do it again each of the next two days, which I'll do, if needed. Not much foot traffic in DC this week for the vigil, and the weather is rain. I'm hoping that Thursday will be clear enough that I can vigil to Free Palestine all day the 25th north side of the WH. We'll see.
