This mornings operation was a success. I arrived at the hospital at 8am. By 9 a.m. They were putting me to sleep. My chemo port is now successfully removed. I'm in recovery for 2 hours. Then a driver from the hospital will return me to the shelter.

Girl to Loving this morning: "I just want to say that I think you are so cool." Loving's note to his Face Book sister RC.

[My dear sister RC from FaceBook learned yesterday that to get wifi (my shelter doesn't have it, and can't support my wifi device that my dearest friend provides me) I spend $2, and a $2 tip, as 'rent' for the wifi in a coffee shop.

L: Hi dear. I expect to be off internet till tomorrow morning.

RC: Any special reason?

L:   I've moved into the 50 and over men's floor of a homeless shelter - I think it may be near-perfect for me - a bottom bunk bed, a locker, with 250 af am men. 1 meal a day. Jesus would approve. Me too. No wifi. So, I can only be online in the morning when I afford myself a cup of coffee, and $2 tip as 'rent' at a coffee shop.

RC this morning:  Is there an address where I could write you or send a package? I know you are fine but I would like to help you financially once in a while. Jesus would approve. Me too. Heart .

She wrote to ask my address to make a small donation to my work.]

Loving, this morning:  I'm in a Corner Bakery shop having coffee, sucking wifi, since 7am. I'll leave at noon, or sooner if I am taking a table that could earn the server money.

1.  There is a girl's b'ball tournament in town, I guess.  Mostly white girls.  In the corner of the store where I sit, at the end, a table of about 6 13 year old's I'll guess.  I was busy typing.  I guess I saw them leaving out of the corner of my eye.  I am wearing my tattoo's, of course, and t shirt that is the name Jesus, formed into a cross, and the words - "Our Religion?  Loving. Universal Family."  One of the the smaller of the girls, all of a sudden was at my table.  Shyly, Respectfully, Reverently, Thankfully even, "I just want to say that I think you are so cool."  She was so grateful for my Stand for Loving, Jesus, Universal Family.

2.  They left a whole bunch of food, and I never afford food, cept what the Creator provides as unsolicited hand outs to we homeless, or an occasional dumpster dive (Jesus called it gleaning in the fields).  The tall, late 30'ish af am male server was at table taking the plates... I scooted over and lied - 'The girls wanted me to have this plate (full of scrambled eggs and a piece of bacon)"  Oh, ok, he said confusedly.  He went on, 'I used to see you at the Martha's Table Homeless Food truck, didn't I?  I'm homeless too, I stay in the shelter."  He works his butt off. Nice as he can be.  I gave him a $2 tip. "Thank you for the Love."  He was deeply grateful.

3.  A little later, 6 middle age, white, church ladies were at that same table.  The front desk screwed up the order of 1, and it was late.  Big fuss at the server.  Must have been a $60-80 breakfast.  They left him ZERO tip.  My God.

Heart .

RC: That much I know and understand. It won't be much but those $2 tips can add up. .

On: 1. Abe Maslow's Hierarchy; 2. Homosexuality. FB Dialog

AL: I know you to be a very intelligent man. What is your opinion of Mazlow's heirarchy?
I know you to have ignored the lower levels in favor of the higher for extended periods of time, but this
is only after having had the lower levels fulfilled for a large portion of your life. Do you think that one is capable of doing the former without having had the latter?

L:  I am a huge respector of Maslow and his work. The hierarchy is among the best known, and least important parts of his work. I'd suggest reading all of his books. Your question is a very important one, on which I've thought, over the years. We know the answer - there are people born of extreme deprivation that seemingly from birth, operate at the higher levels. So, on that one point, I think Abe was very incorrect. I'd say it is 99% a matter of the culture, community, environment in which one is raised that determines what part of the hierarchy we operate at. For me, it was my dad. If the community lives self-centered, the child, and adult will strongly tend to operate as though the lower part of the hierarchy were THE ONLY PART. Conversely, a child raised among those operating at the highest levels, will live as though they don't know that the lower levels even exist. That is my experience, that is my observation.    By modern standards aboriginal tribes of today and 1000's of years ago, were massively deprived at the lower levels, but my understanding and view is that they tended to operate at the higher levels, as do near all other of the higher species. We've ADDICTED ourselves and our children to the lower levels, that's what we see. That's why it seems 'normal;' it is 'normal' to our sick culture, but not to our species epigenetic tendencies (maslow's term).

AL:  Thanks.  :-)

L:  What are your thoughts on homosexuality?

AL:  Well, unimportantly, it is so foreign to my nature that I am uncomfortable with it. But importantly: 1. It is biological; 2. It is a type of sexuality, just as heterosexuality is; 3. To our earlier discussion, there is nothing that dooms your world, you are young, to operating as tho the joyless lower 'needs' are all there is... than our obsession, sick addiction, to recreational sex (my #1 addiction for so many decades) - singularly depriving us of the infinite Joy of the higher level needs - yes, sex is Lust, with virtually no exceptions.. not Love (Lust is me about gratifying me; Love is me about tending to the neediest of my human family). I'm not moralizing, any more than Abe did; I can be disagreed with, but I am not moralizing. So, #3. My sad objection to homosexual sex and heterosexual is the same - recreational sex which we've (especially we males) put at the center of our being in this society, well, there may be no greater tragedy - it robs individuals of meaningful service for their lives; and it robs humanity of the selfless, dedicated sisters and brothers that a healthy planet utterly depends on.
