As to today, I've just posted this as my email 'vacation' response -
10.16.13 9am - A HS classmate of whom I have zero recollection, has become a wonderful friend on FB in recent months. A great wise, harsh LOL, smart, stimulating friend.
She wrote this morning:
SL [ARGH - 'LOVING' IS MY NAME], not to get
maudlin here, but I have to ask- did you keep diaries/ letters/ journals
throughout your life? Did you "document" the growth and changes in your
viewpoint, your faith, your relationships/marriage, the challenges that
have led you to where you are now?
Of course, I have watched all of the videos on your site and I have an understanding of what you see (or want to forget) as you look back, NOW. But I was looking today at the photo that L. F. posted some time ago of the MHS A Cappella Choir and I am fascinated by the visage of your young self and how you got from there to here, especially as you slogged through it.
If I don't get the chance to come to DC and talk with you at length, which it has been and IS MY HOPE TO DO, I would like to at least be able to read about your life, if such materials exist in some form.
xo,xo,xo"
I find this not only a darling outreach, but an important spur to me. I expect to spend most of the time I have left before tomorrow's major surgery, working on a reply, that I'll post, Creator willing.
I'll probably glance at other emails, FB comments, etc, but please understand if I am slow, or unable, to reply.
My BLOG, my Life, my Gift to you - Google "Start Loving," or http://jesusgodgoodetcnjay.blogspot.com/
ps: LOL. I'm spending the day totally across town at the Georgetown Minsitry Center ( http://georgetownministrycenter.org/ ) . The CCNV Infirmary, of course, does not have hot water, and the surgeon said he needs me to bathe with anti-bacterial soap. LOL.ROFL!!! I don't know if this is something the surgeon asks all of his patients, or if it was a really tactful way he used to have a homeless bum take a shower so he wasn't leaning over a stinking corpse for hours tomorrow. ROFL. He is extremely kind and respectful, as is the entire staff that I've encountered at Georgetown Univ Hospital - utterly breathtaking. The card I'm going to have for them tomorrow will be a picture of Jesus saying - 'Love your brother as yourself.' My note will say - "I am just a homeless bum, but you treated me as a Brother. What more is there to say? Your Admiring brother, Loving (pka James McGinley) [Google 'Start Loving' for my blog]
pps: Please share this: http://jesusgodgoodetcnjay.blogspot.com/2013/10/pic-youve-got-some-guts-right-share.html
