000. It is said, give me the right place to stand and I can move the world. The right place to Stand is in the Depths of my Soul, in Solidarity with the Global Neediest, Serving. And from there I can possibly move the Soul of Humanity, and thereby the world - Gandhi's Soul Force. |
117. I defeat temptation by bringing to mind in that moment, the existential choice: 1. Do I want to spend the next moments embracing what's been called God (Loving, Serving from the Soul in Solidarity), or 2. Do I prefer what intoxications the temptation before me holds? |
Within recent months I read, or re-read Sorokin's "The Ways and Power of Love." It is on my top ten must reads for everyone, to save humanity, avert ecocide.
I'd missed, not read, or not grasped his arduous, difficult, utterly invaluable exposition on the techniques used by what, in his estimable view, are the religious institutions that, at specific times in history, have achieved a heroic level of altruizing on the members - most notable among these are the monasteries, employed by virtually all religions.
They were, and maybe some still are, 'boot camps,' 'medical schools,' 'Navy Seal training bases'... for Heroic Altruism, Heroic Loving, Heroic Humanity - INSHE Warriors.
Well, if we are going to avert ecocide, we need to produce the level of INSHE (Insanely Humane) Warriors that they did, but in months, not years. To that end I've written "Unleashing Your Unviolent Warrior - Personal Trainer." Having devoted a lifetime to learn, embody, and practice the characteristics of the greatest INSHE Warriors throughout history, I've distilled in this book the now, 117 characteristics that literally every day, I try to fully instill, or keep instilled, in myself.
I pray that in the days I have left I can update the book for the 9 or so characteristics that my own unviolent warring for humanity have told me were missing from the current addition. The new first item now is 000, and the last 117, above.
