Vindicated? Leo Tolstoy, and James, Maybe. The last two chapters of the law of love and the law of violence written two years before his death near 100.
In the last week or so of study James has agonized over the apparent blindness and error of Tolstoy. Laws? Dogma? Blindly thinking that the answer was in the change of mass society which is impossible? It seems that at the end he pretty much Saw the Light. And this light that he shared in this book is what Martin Luther King read as a Seminary Student at Crozer Seminary.

The symptoms beginning yesterday were of another flooded engine. The risk has been there but the weather and travel schedule has not permitted further protective action. And the symptoms beginning yesterday suggested that it was too late. Some work late today determined it may have been something else. Tomorrow's travel will provide the test. Different approach. How would Tolstoy be correct? On what basis? That constructing the world of loving, soul in charge, is the most joyful pursuit no matter what.

The Law of Violence and the Law of Love, and in his essay, “The only Commandment,” written a few years before his death, Tolstoy discusses the reasons why educated people, and even those who claim to be religious, ignore this eternal, all embracing law of love. Tolstoy asserts that love purifies the individual and is the essence of life. The fruit of love is happiness. Happiness comes not because man loves his fellowmen but because he loves the source of all, namely God. God dwells in all of us and therefore man recognizes God in himself through love and extends this love to all men. Man needs to let love in and squeeze out hatred, guile and vengeance from his being.

All but Jesus were mistakenly concerned with fixing the world and that wasn't gonna happen. They are as good as ever we could hope to see and even with the fundamental error that James is now seeing in their work, excepting Jesus, their example was close enough and they've made clear that mass infection among hundreds of millions or billions is not in gunna happen. But infection of the individual here or there? That can be improved upon by understanding their error.
And although preliminary, 0 credit to himself, the understanding of their error came to James only several days to go, and he has begun to mention it.
Leo, it is not about some law. It is not about the possibility of fixing humanity. This species as we have degraded ourselves. Not a possibility. The last 3 days have been in part an experiment with a new electrical configuration of sol. Mentioned earlier the PID feedback control loop has been employed with the purpose of automatically applying throttle and/or E breaking so that James could be free of the need to control those things.

In Tolstoy’s four gospels harmonized translated, he put forth and understanding that I never would have arrived at myself.
