James is grateful he finds, thankful, for those one in a million people now and throughout history that he understands as living entirely to make the world a place that is more good. understand this of themselves. But existing for that as their purpose.
so this holds true for People that he knows through books and observation, and personal experience with people that have been in his life.
He is surprised to see the Symmetry, and extremely glad of it. James Does not experience himself as separate from the world but part of it and it's part of him. So it only makes sense in hindsight that he would value those that are helping the world, (him), living to do so, and not be thankful for those who like cancer despite their best efforts or understanding of themselves are just trying to get their piece, get pleasure from their piece, trying to survive, like cancer.
And he is not thankful for those trying to improve laws or simply trying to improve conditions per se tho they might understand themselves that way. It is those that love good and are trying to increase or protect good in the world, as only from good can improved conditions that are sustainable flow.
This is entirely different than the list of people that he loves which is everyone that he knows and everyone that he has ever known of. We're all doing our best. One in a million are not cancer cells. And James is not thankful for cancer cells.
Important afterthought. I am thankful for our also the entire list of people enviable, their quality of life. These are the ones with lives of joy, and almost unbearable suffering. The people here, and one's like them that he does not know. And a few others. LSGIABeing.com
