Today in a prior post James honestly stated that he buried the old James, extraordinary cyclist, not seen in the last several years.

James hopefully can leave this old extraordinary cyclist dead. And buried.
Hopefully he can embrace the lesson, James, mind your own business. You can't resurrect that old cyclist. All you can do is the best you can with what you have today. That's it. It is interesting however that that can provide the ground for that old extraordinary cyclist to be reborn at least in brief spurts.
James, don't forget the ascensional lessons of today. They really scenes seem sustainable and transformational.
Principal. A cadence of at least 70 or 75 always from start to finish.
Principal. A cadence of 70 or more allows for high power to be delivered in small bites. James, think about it. Why does not one run the marathon in long jump jumps? It is too exhausting. It is not the optimal way. There is a reason for Sprint speed of the legs. There is a reason for squats in lifting extreme wait, very very slow cadence. But there is a reason for marathon cadence and 70 or 80 probably equates to that the body cannot deliver extreme amounts of energy at extremely low cadence and sustain it. But it can deliver very .... The body finds it really really gratifying to find that little bit of energy each cycle that it cannot discover at low Cadence. It is reinforcing, and encouraging.
Principal. Most important recent discovery and maybe most important of all. There are 2 elements of energy. 1 is 360゚ always, that slight attempt to accelerate beyond current cadence not to achieve faster cadence but to stay engaged as part of the overall machine. It must never stop any breath, and any nano 2nd, any millimeter. Rest can occur but not rest of that tiny background energy. It is the eyes and ears, the sensory system the synchronization mechanism on which everything else depends.
