Looks like you will probably be passing by or stopping at Chicahominy Reservoir, BLM CG. We have stopped/camped there several times. Its simple, easy access, relatively quiet/peaceful. We recommend it. But you may be only doing an overniter there. Haven't been in that neck of the woods since before the Bundy/libertarian occupation of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge. Hope you made it out of Reno/Sparks area without Police harassment.
Outside of Riley! Yes, stay there this time last year and probably again this time for the night. Yes, very nice. And the Little Country Store in Riley, such nice folks. Actually, now that I think of it, I think I stayed on their place no charge. Such nice folks. Hugs to the 3 M's. And yes, the highway patrol spokes have so far been really really decent, not bothered me at all.
Yeah, I thought about mentioning the store in Riley. I think we bought a dozen eggs there once. Well, anyway, since you already been there, I'm just happy we agree that its a nice place/area. Burns is a nice little town too, just a shame it got embroiled in that FBI/vigilante standoff thing. I don't agree with either side. There's a nice cafe on the highway between Riley and Bend. I don't remember the town or name. We stopped there for breakfast once on our way to the Oregon coast after Chicahominy. Out In the middle of NOwhere. Good food, reasonable price, nice people. But, hey, you probably already been there too.
Have a good night where ever you are tonight. We may not have stayed there, but I,m sure we passed by a few times. Hope you can post a few (or a lot) of photos.
