Before
the tar sands megaloads could even leave Portland two participants of
the coalition of climate justice groups and tribal members locked down
to the megaload and stopped its departure!

Another
photo from Umatilla tonight. Thursday we will talk about this week's
action and how you can get involved, in whatever way is appropriate for
you, to do everything we can to stop these shipments from reaching the
tar sands.

WE
WON TONIGHT!!! THE MEGALOAD IS STOPPED IN UMATILLA!!! The delay caused
by our lockdown stopped the megaload long enough that they could not
make the next stop before morning. WE NEED PEOPLE TOMORROW TO JOIN US
FOR ROUND TWO. Meeting at the The Desert River Inn 705 Willamette St.
Umatilla, OR at 5PM in the conference room.
Please share this photo, tell your friends and JOIN US. FB event coming soon!
The load is only allowed to move between 8pm and 6am, we were able to stall and stop the load long enough that it could not make it's next stop within ODOT's permitted travel window. We can do this again, but we need YOU!
