Mark 4 3 "Hear this! A sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Other seed fell on rocky ground where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep. 6 And when the sun rose, it was scorched and it withered for lack of roots. 7 Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it and it produced no grain. 8 And some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit. It came up and grew and yielded thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold."
Well duh, but for me only within recent days is this scripture coming alive for me. It is coming alive as I watch / experience the results of various encounters I have with folks as they encounter what is up with my walk / path / Life:
* Someone says after asking what I need: "Oh, I'll bring you water!," and then never comes back. SEED ON THE PATH.
* Another says: "I'll be back!" and is, once, and never again." SEED ON THE ROCKY SOIL.
* Another says: "Wow, this guy might be the most courageous guy, Jesus following guy, I've ever heard of!" But their friends say different and contact ends. SEED AMONG THE THORNS.
* Another says (though their behavior): "What an irritating jerk!" And then brings water and whatever is needed every day, day after day." SEED ON FERTILE SOIL.
And there are many cases I am experiencing and recognizing in these four categories as the days go on.
How long will we choose Hell by ignoring the directions to Heaven that Jesus gave us?
